High and dry winds are driving the intensity of the Getty Fire according to Los Angeles based KNX’s Brian Ping. The fire has consumed 656 acres along with several multi-million-dollar houses. Mandatory evacuations have sent billionaires like NBA star LeBron James scrambling to find to a place to stay. In terms of location the fire couldn’t be in a more inconvenient space. The blaze has also caused issues with commute time. Burning along the busy 405 forcing several exits to be sealed off entirely. “The commutes an absolute nightmare because the 405 is one of the big bottlenecks of Southern California,” Ping said.
80 mph winds are forecasted for Tuesday night so mandatory evacuations are expected to remain in place. While the cause of the fire is unknow at this point arson has been ruled out.
